MESSAGING & ELECTION STRATEGY
to turn Windham purple and the NH State House blue in 2022

Lisa DeMio will join us to speak about a newly launched project that focuses on value-based messaging and the need to educate the public about the radicalization of NH Government.

This month’s Windems meeting will focus on effective messaging, and our guest will be Lisa DeMio. Lisa is the Hampstead Democratic Committee Town Chair, co-founder of the Local Leadership Network, and co-chair of the RockHills Coalition. Given the radical-right agenda overtaking the NH State House over the past two years, Windham and many other NH towns have a great opportunity to elect representatives who share the common values in our towns e.g., strong public school systems; protection of our town’s beauty, natural resources, and environment; and fair and humane treatment of all residents. However, for many years, there’s been concern that Democrats continue to lose the messaging war and, to win in November, we must effectively communicate about major issues and our common values while combating distortion, exaggeration, and misinformation.

After our discussion with Lisa, Windham residents attending will discuss specifics about our current representatives and what can be done to elect Democrats in Windham in November.

NH Legislature looking to remove all vaccine requirements

The spread of misinformation around COVID vaccines has started to bleed into other areas of public health with potentially dangerous outcomes.

In an op-ed published in the New Hampshire Bulletin, a team of medical leaders spoke out recently about the dangerous push by the state legislature to undermine or remove vaccine requirements across the state.

"As the chief executive officers of New Hampshire’s community health centers that serve 112,000 Granite Staters, we write today out of grave concern for the future of public health in New Hampshire," said Dr. Robert MacLeod, chief executive officer of Mid-State Health Center, Janet Laatsch, chief executive officer of Greater Seacoast Community Health, and Kenneth Porter, executive director of White Mountain Community Health Center. The letter was also signed by seven other leaders of community health centers.

The push against the COVID-19 vaccines, due in part to fears about the speed with which they seemed to be developed and embraced, seriously undermined the world's ability to contain the virus before it spread and mutated. Thus, two years after the first pandemic lock-downs we are still facing viral spread, a rising death toll and new information about ongoing issues that many with even mild illness are experiencing.
