High School Senior Scholarship
The Windham Democratic Town Committee and the Salem Democratic Town Committee have once again teamed up to co- sponsor a scholarship to be awarded to a deserving graduating senior from their communities. This year’s award has been increased to $1,000. All Salem and Windham seniors who will be attending a post-secondary institution in the fall are welcome to apply.
The scholarship will be awarded based upon academic performance, extracurricular activities, financial need and an essay. The topic of this year’s essay is: “Is any threat worth sacrificing our civil liberties for security?”
Applications are available from the Salem High School Guidance Office or may be downloaded online at www.windems.org. Applicants do not need to be a Salem High School student, just a resident of Windham or Salem who is graduating this year. The deadline to submit an application is April 2, 2008.
